BRIDGES. - William FAIRBAIRN. An Account of the Construction of the Britannia and Conway Tubular Bridges. London: John Weale, 1849. 8vo (247 x 149mm.) Folding frontispiece, 19 folding plates. (Spotting and light browning, plate IX lacking, some plates torn and spotted, ink marginalia to title-page.) Contemporary Russia-backed boards (head and foot of spine reinforced with touches of recolouring, extremities lightly bumped, hinges reinforced). - And ten other volumes relating to bridges. Provenance: from the estate of the late Michael Gilkes FRCS, FRCOphth., FRGS (11).
