BINDINGS. - Thomas BARBER. Barber's Picturesque Illustrations of the Isle of Wight… Accompanied by Historical and Topographical Descriptions. London: Simpkin & Marshall, [n.d. but circa 1834.] 8vo (230 x 136mm.) Engraved frontispiece, engraved decorative title, 39 engraved plates, 1 engraved folding map. (Some light browning, spotting and offsetting, mostly to plates.) Contemporary morocco tooled in gilt and blind, gilt turn-ins, g.e. (extremities scuffed and lightly bumped, hinges starting to split). Provenance: Caroline Smith (inscribed 'a small token of affection from her sincerely attached friend Henry George Ashhurst February 8th 1838'). - And eighteen other leather-bound volumes (19).
