A fine Scottish highlander's dirk by Nicholls & Hunter, 8 Jermyn St, London, with double fullered single edged blade with scalloped back, length 29.5cm, etched with thistles and crest incorporating a stag's head flanked by a swan and a dove of peace, basket weave carved dark hardwood grip with thistle embossed silver mounts and faceted glass pommel, with its leather sheath with thistle embossed silver mounts, the upper mount engraved 'J. McRostie, London 1849', by John Linnit, and matching knife and fork (chape damaged, some studs missing from grips).
