A Japanese lacquer and Shibayama inlaid five case inro, Meiji period, the powder gilt ground reserved with a pair of silver wire framed panels containing finely inlaid images of a two-wheeled flower cart (hanaguruma), carrying a tasselled wickerwork basket of chrysanthemum, peony, iris and a bough of flowering wisteria, trailing over from one panel to the next, inlaid mother-of-pearl Shibayama signature plaque to base, length 9.4cm, together with a Shibayama inlaid ivory ojime and a carved red lacquer gourd netsuke.
