A late 19th century French Aesthetic period pottery cased mantel clock, probably by Jules Vieillard (Bordeaux), with eight day movement striking on a bell, the brass circular dial with applied black Roman numerals and inscribed 'W.H Skinner Late F. White Paris', the hexagonal case with turquoise glazed Buddhistic lion surmount, the body with flying cranes, clouds and foliate panels on turquoise and pale brown banded grounds, flanked by a pair of moulded aubergine elephant mask handles, on a rectangular base with scroll feet, impressed factory marks including '653' and painted marks to base, height 41.5cm, with pendulum (minor chips to elephant tusks).
