A Eugenio Pattarino pottery figure, modelled as one of the three wise men, wearing elaborately decorated and gilt costume, kneeling holding a casket on his knee, gilt painted signature to underside, height approx 39.5cm (one finger repaired). Note: the sculptor and ceramist Eugenio Pattarino was born in Florence in 1885, where he attended the Academy of Fine Arts as a student of Giovanni Fattori. His studio was located close to the famous Ponte Vecchio bridge, where he worked until he retired in 1966. His son Ranieri continued to run the business after his father's death in 1971.
