A Japanese Satsuma earthenware vase by Ryozan for the Yasuda Company, Meiji period, of baluster form, one side painted and gilt with four maidens watching five children in a lakeside setting with blossoming trees, pavilions and mountains beyond, the other side with flowers and bamboo, within simulated brocade borders, gilt Yasuda Company mark and Shihazu mon and iron red and gilt signature to base, height approx 18cm.
