A fine Japanese Tokyo School carved ivory okimono figure of a crab catcher, by Ryuichi, Meiji period, finely modelled wearing a short jacket and woven grass skirt, his right hand with a crab pinching his finger as further crabs try to escape from the wicker basket hanging on his hip, on a circular base with smaller wicker basket, incised signature to base, height approx 35.5cm (minor faults).
