A Second World War period Japanese katana with curved single edged blade, length approx 66cm, uneven yakiba, signed tang, military tsuba and mounts, tape bound sharkskin covered grip, in its brown painted metal scabbard (paint lifting), together with a photocopy of a presentation certificate authorising Major Sutton to retain a sword/bayonet as a war trophy, dated 8/8/46.
