London: 1856. 8vo (164 x 100mm.) Engraved frontispiece, 9 engraved plates. (Browning, spotting and some soiling.) Original cloth blocked in gilt and blind (extremities bumped and scuffed, joints splitting). Provenance: Sophia Andrews (prize label from St. Helier's Parochial Sunday School dated 'Christmas 1856' to front pastedown); William Andrews (signed and dated 'Oct 26/77' to front-free endpaper). - And twenty-four other volumes relating to Pitcairn Island and the Bounty (including: Trevor LUMMIS. 'Pitcairn Island, Life and Death in Eden'. Aldershot: Ashgate, 1997). Provenance: The Michael Gilkes Collection (25).
