COBB, Arthur. Birds of the Falkland Islands, a Record of Observation with the Camera. London: H.F. & G. Witherby, 1933. First edition, 8vo (227 x 142mm.) Numerous photographic illustrations. (Marginal soiling to pp.14-15.) Original cloth (extremities bumped, soiled and faded). Provenance: David Loader (signed and dated 'The Old Rectory, Southwick, 13 May 1934' to front-free endpaper). Together with an a.l.s. by Arthur Cobb addressed to 'Loader' on Bleaker Island headed paper dated '19/3/11', discussing the 11 mile-long island and its '4,000 sheep & 60 cattle & 6 horses', stamp collecting and politics. - And a small collection of later photographs and family correspondence. Provenance: The Michael Gilkes Collection.
