Cambridge: Hakluyt Society, 1955-1974. First edition, 4 vols. in 5, 8vo (234 x 148mm.) Numerous plates and illustrations. (Light browning, occasional spotting to fore-edge.) Original cloth blocked in gilt (extremities lightly bumped and scuffed), dust-jackets (chipped with minor loss, backstrips browned). - And one portfolio 'The Journals of Captain James Cook, Charts & Views' containing 58 plates and charts. Provenance: The Michael Gilkes Collection (6).
