BRASSEY, [Thomas Allnutt]. The 'Sunbeam', R.Y.S. Voyages and Experiences in Many Waters, Naval Reserves and Other Matters. London: John Murray, 1918. First edition, second impression, 8vo (225 x 149mm.) Photogravure frontispiece, 1 photogravure plate, 46 uncoloured plates, 2 maps. (Spotting, some light browning, marginal tear without loss to p.385.) Original cloth blocked in gilt with coloured flags to upper-cover (extremities lightly bumped and scuffed, minor damp staining and soiling, spine faded, endpapers browned with some offsetting). Provenance: W.S. & May Mackenzie (inscription to Mr Mackenzie 'To you both from your old friend, Brassey' on note card mounted to front pastedown; inscription 'W.S. & May Mackenzie received this book from Lord Brassey the very day of his funeral, 6th March, he having died on Saturday 2nd March 1918' to front pastedown; inscription 'Very many thanks, I am so glad you have his book' on a Countess Brassey calling card mounted to front-free endpaper); The Michael Gilkes Collection.
