Original cloth (extremities bumped and scuffed, spine slightly faded, some soiling). Spence 517. Provenance: Ailie Cullen (presentation inscription from the author 'With happy memories of forgone days, which of course include all kinds of good wishes from the author Larry Gould, December 9, 1936' to front-free endpaper). - And forty-one other volumes relating to the Antarctic, mostly first editions (including: J. Gordon HAYES. 'The Conquest of the South Pole, Antarctic Exploration 1906-1931'. London: Thornton Butterworth, Limited, 1932. First edition, 8vo). Provenance: The Michael Gilkes Collection (42).
