ANTARCTIC, NATURAL HISTORY. - Guillermo MANN. Biologia de la Antartica Suramericana, Estudios realizados durante la Expedición Antártica Chilena, 1947. Santiago: 1948. First edition, 8vo (236 x 148mm.) Numerous plates and illustrations. (Light browning.) Original printed paper wrappers (extremities slightly chipped, lightly browned and soiled). Provenance: Angel Lulio Cabrera (bookplate to front pastedown). Note: Cabrera (1908-1999) was an Argentinian botanist, he published approximately 250 specialist texts describing several species unknown to science. - And a quantity of other volumes relating to Antarctic natural history (including: 'Life in the Antarctic'. London & Glasgow: Gowans & Gray Ltd., 1907; Einar LÖNNBERG. 'Contributions to the Fauna of South Georgia'. Uppsala & Stockholm: 1906). Provenance: The Michael Gilkes Collection (a quantity).
