A Japanese shibayama inlaid silver and ivory koro and cover, Meiji period, the lobed oval ivory body inlaid in mother-of-pearl and various hardstones with birds, flowers and blossoming branches, applied with incised signature plaque, the silver domed cover with twin crane finial above polychrome enamelled flower and tendril sprays, the collar with similarly enamelled decoration flanked by a pair of ho-o bird handles, the domed foot with further enamelled floral decoration on four lappet feet, engraved signature plaque to base, height approx 23.5cm.
