A rare silver oval portrait medal depicting Elizabeth I by Simon de Passe, signed 'Si.Pas.Fe.', circa 1616, one side finely engraved with a bust portrait of Queen Elizabeth I wearing a small crown, her hair jewelled, high ruff collar and 'Armada' dress, after the original miniature portrait of Isaac Oliver, the reverse with crowned shield within garter, with lion and dragon supporters, inscribed 'Diev et Mon Droit' on ribbon above and Latin epigram on tablet below 'Qvi Leo de Ivda Est et Flos de Iesse Leones Protegat et Flores Elizabetha Tvos', approx 6.1cm x 5cm (pierced at top and some wear to portrait).
