A Japanese carved and stained ivory okimono group, Meiji period, finely carved and pierced with a young child seated on the back of a fallow deer, as her mother stands beside carrying an overladen fruit basket, overflowing with a peach branch and grape vine trailing over the deer's head and two seated monkeys at their feet, incised and black stained signature to base, height approx 16.5cm.
