A Staffordshire Death of Lord Nelson commemorative pearlware jug, circa 1806, the compressed ovoid body painted in brown script 'William Henshall 1806' beneath the spout, one side printed in pink with a scene of a mourning Britannia at the tomb of Nelson, the reverse with inscription and verse 'Britannias addrefs [sic] on the death of Lord Nelson. Behold the portrait of my darling son, who fought and conquer'd ere his race was run ...', beneath a blue line and banded neck and rim, height approx 13.2cm (spout repaired, hairline cracks and rim chip).
