A Chinese Canton export ivory folding fan, mid-19th Century, the guards carved in low relief with butterflies, fish and flowers, the sixteen sticks with pierced decoration supporting a paper panel, finely painted in gouache with figural panels reserved against a floral ground, each figure with applied ivory facial detail, length approx 26.7cm, within original fitted lacquer rectangular box, painted with gilt figural panel and scrolling foliage.
