A Japanese Satsuma earthenware vase by Kinkozan, Meiji period, of baluster form, the body painted with opposing panels emblematic of spring and autumn, one side with sparrows flying amidst blossoming branches, the other side with three quail in a woodland setting, all reserved against a blue ground, enriched with gilt and polychrome enamel foliate borders and framing, iron red and gilt signature to base, height approx 30cm.
