Contemporary green morocco tooled in gilt, by Sotheran & Co., London, spine in six compartments with raised gilt bands with repeat foliate scroll decoration, g.e. (extremities lightly scuffed, head of spine chipped). Provenance: Constance Hitcher (inscription dated May 26 09 to preliminary blank); Joyce Cary (inscription dated 1938 to preliminary blank).
