A George III ebonized bracket clock, the eight day five pillar twin fusee movement with verge escapement, striking hours on a bell, the brass break arch dial with matt centre, mock pendulum and date apertures, framed by a silvered chapter ring with black Roman hours and Arabic minutes, cornered with cast and pierced rococo scroll spandrels, beneath a silvered strike/silent indicator, inscribed 'WH Smith, London', the backplate with finely engraved floral and whorl decoration, the case with inverted bell top and brass carry handle above a glazed door on a moulded rectangular base and bracket feet, height approx 51.5cm.
