Auguste Louis Mathurin Moreau - 'Retour des Hirondelles', a late 19th Century French brown patinated cast bronze full-length figure of a young maiden welcoming the return of the swallows, seated upon a naturalistic ivy-covered rock, accompanied by three swallows, bearing cast signature 'Auguste Moreau', the circular base bearing gilt bronze plaque inscribed 'Retour des Hirondelles par Aug. Moreau. Médaille d'or à l'Exposition', height approx 69cm.
