A late 19th Century Renaissance Revival gold, diamond and enamelled openwork circular brooch, the principal pearl in a surround of four cushion shaped diamonds and four seed pearls, otherwise enamelled in white, pale blue and red with heart shaped scrolls and fleurs-de-lis, unmarked, width approx 2.5cm, within a fitted case, detailed 'Mrs Newman ... 10 Savile Row. W'. Note: Charlotte Isabella Newman (1836-1920) was an important female studio jeweller and was a pupil and later assistant to John Brogden. She specialised in archaeological, Neo-Renaissance and Holbeinesque work, mostly in gold and enamel. After Brogden's death in 1885, Mrs Newman set up her own business at No. 10 Savile Row, London.
