A mid-19th Century French thuja and ebony rectangular games box, the lockplate inscribed 'Diehl ... Paris', the hinged lid inlaid in brass with a foliate scroll plaque, initialled 'H.P.', the compartmentalized interior with a part set of 19th Century playing cards and various mother-of-pearl gaming counters, width approx 30.5cm (eight and four of spades missing).
