A Japanese carved and stained ivory okimono netsuke, Meiji/Taisho period, finely modelled to represent the fable Shita-Kiri Suzume (The Sparrow with a Cut Tongue), with a group of anthropomorphic sparrows pulling a cart for an elderly gentleman, incised signature and landscape view to base, length approx 4.9cm, on a carved wood stand.
