TOLKIEN, J.R.R. The Return of the King… The Lord of the Rings. London: George Allen & Unwin Ltd, 1955. First edition, later impression, 8vo (220 x 137mm.) Folding map bound at rear. (Light browning.) Original red cloth (head and foot of spine lightly bumped, extremities slightly affected by damp, ink inscription to front-free endpaper), dust-jacket (somewhat soiled, spine browning, lightly bumped and chipped with minor loss, some red dye transferred from cloth binding to inside of jacket).
