A Japanese Satsuma earthenware moonflask by Ninzan, Meiji period, of flattened circular form, each side painted and gilt with figures, trees and pavilions in landscapes, the short cylindrical neck flanked by a pair of gilt Buddhistic lion cub handles, on a circular foot, brown and gilt signature including Shimazu mon to base, height approx 32cm.
