A Japanese shibayama inlaid and lacquered ivory tusk vase, Meiji period, gilt lacquered and inlaid in various hardstones with a scene of an egret, chick and sparrow amongst bamboo and flowers, on a gilt lacquered hardwood stand, height approx 14cm, together with a Japanese ivory paperknife, the handle applied in silver and gold with flowers and an insect, length approx 25cm.
