A Japanese black patinated and mixed metal inlaid bronze kodansu by Nogawa Noboru, Meiji period, of rectangular form, the front fitted with three graduated drawers, each with silver flowerbud handle, the sides finely inlaid in mixed metals with pheasant in blossoming branch, goose flying before a moon and an acer branch, the drawer fronts with a blossoming prunus branch, the top with a group of butterflies beneath a kiku bud mount and ring handle, on bracket feet, incised signature to side and Nogawa mark to base, length approx 8.2cm.
