A Japanese Satsuma earthenware vase by Gyokushu, Meiji period, the tapered cylindrical body painted and gilt with opposing scenes of samurai and bijin, against a dark blue and gilt overlaid ground, signature to base, height approx 24cm, together with a pair of Satsuma earthenware vases by Motodani, of hexagonal baluster form decorated with samurai, height approx 12cm, and two other Satsuma earthenware vases, heights approx 20.5cm and 25cm (some faults).
