A George III black chinoiserie japanned longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the brass break arch dial with strike/silent indicator to arch, the silvered chapter ring with black Roman numerals, outer Arabic minutes and inner date ring, framing a silvered subsidiary seconds and foliate engraved centre inscribed 'Samuel Marr, London', all cornered with cast and pierced gilt brass spandrels, the case with all-over gilt chinoiserie decoration, the arched hood with three giltwood ball finials, the trunk with arched door, on bracket feet, height approx 234cm, with pendulum and two weights (base reduced and faults).
