A pair of Chinese Canton export mother-of-pearl shells, late 19th Century, each finely carved in relief with scenes of figures in a landscape or a village setting, length approx 21cm and 21.5cm (one with faint hairlines), together with carved and pierced hardwood stands formed as prunus branches.
