A Japanese Satsuma earthenware vase, Meiji period, the ovoid body enamelled and gilt in the Kinran palette with chrysanthemum and bamboo, gilt signature to base, height approx 15.5cm (small chip to foot and bruise/hairline to rim), together with a Satsuma dish, Meiji period, of square form with canted corners, enamelled and gilt with two birds flying above flowers and a stream, blue enamelled shimazu mon to base, width approx 10.6cm.
