MEYNELL, Alice. Essays. London: Burns & Oates, 1914. Limited edition of 250 large paper copies, this number 9, 4to (198 x 145mm). Frontispiece after Piranesi. (Light offsetting from frontispiece onto the title.) Contemporary blue/grey morocco, covers panelled in gilt, spine divided into two unequal compartments by a raised band, lettered in gilt in the uppermost, the lower with a design of daisies and foliage built up from small tools, gilt turn-ins, t.e.g. (light scuffing to extremities, slight discolouration of the spine). Provenance: Cecilia Codrington (inscription dated May 1923, possibly noting the gift of the book, as a wedding present, from Lady Victoria Machell); The Library Collection of the Late W. Leslie Weller MBE, DL, FSA.
