Gothic and Roman type, text pages within elaborate woodcut borders composed from several historiated and ornamental blocks, including a 'Dance of Death' series loosely based on Holbein, 'extra-illustrated' at the beginning with a late Victorian pen and ink copy of the woodcut of Queen Elizabeth I at prayer, and at the end with a similar copy of the title border showing Jesse's dream. (Lacking all before E1, S1, S4, and all after mm3, numerous neat repairs, about 12 leaves repaired with loss to margins or text). Contemporary limp vellum. STC 6428-6431. Provenance: F.A.
