A mid-19th Century Elkington & Co electro-type plated replica of a Classical Roman Kantharos excavated from Pompeii in 1835, decorated in high relief with two centaurs and attendant putti on a textured ground, flanked by a pair of scroll handles, marked 'Elkington & Co Electro Dep' to plaque on underside of foot, height approx 15cm, on a later ebonized wooden plinth.
