LOT 1170
A Victorian brass inlaid rosewood bracket clock with eight day triple fusee movement striking on a gong and chiming on eight bells, the brass arched dial with silvered 'chime/silent', 'slow/fast' and 'chime on eight bells/Westminster chime' subsidiary dials above a silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals framing a matt centre applied with a silvered plaque inscribed 'S. Smith & Son, 85 Strand, London', all cornered with cast and pierced gilt spandrels, the Regency style case with brass pineapple finial above four further finials, the moulded arched pediment above a brass inlaid frieze of foliate scrolls, repeated on the glazed door, flanked by a pair of brass Corinthian columns and pierced fret panels, on an inverted breakfront plinth and lobed brass feet, height approx 75cm, with pendulum and winder (minor faults).
