A late 19th Century German walnut mantel clock with eight day Lenzkirch movement striking on two gongs, the brass break arch dial with subsidiary slow/fast indicator to arch above a matt centre, framed by a silvered chapter ring inscribed 'J.W. Benson, Ludgate Hill, London, German made', cornered with gilt pierced foliate scroll spandrels, the brass mounted case with carved foliate dome top, flanked by torch finials above pierced scrollwork fret panels on a moulded plinth with protruding corners and scroll feet, height approx 39cm, with pendulum.
