An early 20th Century marine chronometer, the two day chain fusee movement with maintaining power, Earnshaw-type spring detent escapement and bimetallic balance, the silvered circular dial with subsidiary state of wind and seconds dials, Roman numerals and inscribed 'Kelvin White & Hutton, 11 Billiter ST, London', and numbered '5760', in a brass bowl hung in gimbals, within a mahogany two-tier brass mounted case, the hinge lid with bevelled glass top, the front with applied plaque inscribed 'Kelvin White & Hutton, 5760, B.I.S.N.CO S/S 'Madura', London', height approx 15.5cm.
