A mid-Victorian burr walnut and gilt metal mounted writing box by 'G. Betjemann & Sons, Makers, 36 Pentonville Road. N', the double hinged top with gilt brass foliate strapwork centred by blue dip jasperware mounts, the interior fitted with a velvet writing slope, inkwells and lidded compartments, width approx 35.5cm (faults).
