A pair of Chelsea porcelain octagonal soup plates, circa 1752-1756, each well painted in the Kakiemon palette with an iron red exotic bird flying above a colourful bird perched in a blossoming branch, the rim decorated with an iron red and gilt border of flowers and scrolling tendrils, painted red anchor mark to base of one, width approx 23.5cm (one with hairline and rim chips, the other with minor rim chips).
