FRENCH HISTORY. - M.A. THIERS. Histoire du Consulat et de L'Empire. Paris: 1874. 21 vols., 8vo (212 x 130mm.) 75 engraved plates. (Some browning, occasional marginal doodles, some risqué, 1 text leaf torn with loss to margin in vol. VI.) Contemporary half-vellum, the flat spines gilt in six compartments, lettering pieces to the second and fourth, the others with repeat decoration in gilt (minor soiling, one upper joint split). Provenance: Henley (armorial bookplate). - And sixteen others of related interest, all leather-bound (37).
