JOHNSON, Samuel. A Dictionary of the English Language… the third edition. London: 1765. 2 vols., folio (415 x 251mm.) Titles printed in red and black. (Some spotting or browning, first few leaves of each volume slightly creased). Contemporary calf (rebacked, extremities scuffed and slightly rubbed). Provenance: A Fitz Hugh (presentation inscriptions from Charles Woolley dated April 13th 1877 to preliminary blanks).
