A Japanese Satsuma earthenware bowl by Fujisan, Meiji period, of circular conical form, the interior painted and gilt with bijin and children in a lakeside setting, within a radiating border of iris, wisteria, chrysanthemum and other flowers, the exterior with a continuous scene of bijin and children amongst blossoming branches, iron red signature to base, diameter approx 12cm.
