A Japanese Satsuma earthenware jar and cover by Koyama Nanpo, Meiji period, the lozenge shaped bombé body painted with opposing panels, one filled with five farmers eating a meal, the other with a landscape view of a pavilion and blossoming trees, within polychrome flower and scrolling tendril borders, the cover with turquoise and gilt kiku bud finial, black and gilt signature to base, height approx 11cm.
