A mid-18th Century chinoiserie lacquered longcase clock with eight day five pillar movement striking on a bell, the brass break arch dial with strike/silent indicator to the arch above a chapter ring with Roman hours and Arabic minutes framing a matt centre with subsidiary seconds, date aperture and inscribed 'Peter Chapeau, London', the hood with three ball finials and caddy top above a glazed door and turned columns, the trunk with arched door painted in gilt with figures and landscape on a similarly decorated base and later bun feet, height approx 270cm, together with pendulum (lacking weights and some restoration).
