A Regency ormolu and white marble mantel timepiece with eight day chain fusee movement, the circular dial with engine turned decoration, Arabic numerals and blued steel hands, the back plate signed 'T. Moss, Ludgate Street, London', the drum case on volute scroll moulded supports, the rectangular white marble base with applied fruit and flower festoon, on engine turned ormolu bun feet, height approx 18cm, dial diameter approx 10.8cm, together with pendulum, winding key and later glass dome and ebonized stand. Note: Thomas Moss apprenticed in 1775, joined the Clockmakers' Company in 1785, became liveryman in 1801 and died in 1827.
