A Gien pottery octagonal plate, circa 1872, decorated in underglaze blue, overglaze enamels and gilt detail with a bearded figure on a shore, probably Neptune, surrounded by shells, a large fish behind him and sailors on choppy waters in the distance, painted factory marks to reverse, diameter approx 20.5cm.
